SFC Launches Red Giants Care, A Special Initiative For CSR Programs

Selangor Football Club (SFC) today would like to announce the launch of Red Giants Care, an initiative focused on the planning and implementation of welfare and community programs (Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR) in Selangor.

This initiative is very important to create an organization that not only excels in the development of state football, but also emphasizes social responsibility to the people of Selangor, especially the less fortunate and the needy.

Previously, SFC has managed several CSR programs such as the former player welfare fund, 'Rice Bucket Challenge' in conjunction with World Food Day with The Lost Food Project and the COVID-19 charity sale to help Selangor supporters affected by the epidemic, but with the launch of the Red Giants Care, such charitable efforts are now able to be expanded and taken to a higher level.

Among the programs that will be introduced under the Red Giants Care initiative are free grassroots football training sessions for Selangor residents, local football community empowerment sessions, environmental management and care activities, free education on football knowledge, football programs for the disabilities as well as other community programs.

Selangor FC President, His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj also expressed his happiness with the existence of Red Giants Care and hinted that this entity will bring SFC closer to its supporters.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Selangor, Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, Red Giants Care is a symbol of Selangor FC's commitment in giving something back to the people of Selangor, especially the Red Giants’ fans.

“Among the main vision and mission of His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj when establishing Selangor FC is to establish a closer relationship with his supporters and understand the difficulties they go through, especially the less fortunate in the state.”

"With the launch of Red Giants Care, now these noble efforts can be emphasized and managed better and more efficiently. Red Giants Care is symbolic of the football club's efforts to give something back to the Selangor football community,” explained Dr. Johan.

For its inaugural program, Red Giants Care will launch the Infaq Tilapia Ramadan program, a fundraising campaign to help those in need in conjunction with the month of Ramadan this year.

This program will see Red Giants Care take the initiative to launch a donation fund to provide iftar food in the form of donations of fresh tilapia fish to several tahfiz centers and selected orphanages in the state of Selangor.

Tilapia fish is a good source of protein for a balanced diet, but because of its high price in the market makes it difficult to be enjoyed by the underprivileged and less fortunate. Through this effort, the target group living in orphanages and tahfiz centers are given the opportunity to break their fast with tilapia dishes.

For supporters who are interested in doing infaq and alms during this holy month, you can channel your donations at this link.

Hopefully, this effort can encourage other parties to also organize welfare and community programs (CSR) for the less fortunate and underprivileged in their respective areas.

Demi kebanggaan.
